Nourishment

Yoga nourishes our bodies and our souls, and after the holidays most of us could use a little re-set in the way we nourish our bodies with the food we put into them.  Our dear friends over at Beaming on the opposite coast have a wonderful e-book to help guide us through some of the nutritional yummies we can add to our smoothies and food to give us an extra boost in a time when our bodies tend to be a bit depleted from the holiday stress and strain.  You can check out their website for more recipes and tips about healthy eating.  Just click Here For Beamings website!

What’s Old is New…

As we get close to the end of 2011 and see the light of 2012 approaching, we here at Shoreline Yoga are busy getting ready for the launch of a new schedule, new computer system, new website, and the set-up of so many things that most students will never even remotely notice or see.  To say it has been smooth sailing would be a fib, but despite the hiccups and magnitude of what we have been implementing to make our studio more enjoyable and user friendly, we are excited for the possibilities and the offerings we have in store for our community in 2012.

Although we are a studio that has been open for almost six months, we are completely new in body and soul.  Yoga itself is “old” if you consider it has been practiced for over 5,000 years.  However, one of the most incredible things about yoga is that despite its “age” it is as applicable and beneficial in 2012 as it was 5,000 years ago.

As we welcome the new year, the new studio, the new possibilities, we hope that you will remember this…Yoga is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself and the world.  Yoga teaches us that we have everything we need inside of ourselves already.  It isn’t the poses that magically transform us, it is the mindfulness that Yoga guides us to through our poses and meditation on our mats that enables us to align with our inner compass and share our incredible “ness” with the world .

Wishing you a happy and peaceful New Year!
